Reid: GOP wants Romney to pay lower tax rate than his 'cleaning lady or chauffeur'

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Republicans' decision to block the "Buffett Rule" showed GOP lawmakers thought it's fair for likely presidential nominee Mitt Romney to pay a lower tax rate than working-class voters.

"Yesterday Senate Republicans once again rejected the idea that millionaires and billionaires should contribute their fair share to help the country prosper," Reid said Tuesday. "Republicans said it's fair for Mitt Romney to pay a lower tax rate than his cleaning lady or his chauffeur. That's not fair."
