Huckabee walks back Beyonce comments

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) on Sunday said singer Beyonce is a “mega-talent,” a stark contrast from earlier comments he made in his new book that called her music “obnoxious and toxic mental poison.”

{mosads}Huckabee, a possible 2016 GOP presidential candidate, had chided President Obama in his book God, Guns, Grits and Gravy for letting his kids listen to Beyonce. Obama’s daughters, Malia and Sasha, are 16, and 13, respectively.

Huckabee walked back those comments in a TMZ video, instead saying that Beyonce “has done some great stuff” and that he just wishes the singer would be less risqué in her attempts to gain popularity.

Huckabee declined to say whether he himself was a fan of the singer but did say he enjoys pop music, along with country and classic rock.
