Carolina Hurley

A “very liberal” college professor once asked Carolina Hurley’s class to raise their hands to say if they were Democrats or Republicans.

Hurley identified herself as a Republican, and the professor asked her to stand and explain her position on gun rights.

“I said these are promised to me through my Second Amendment, and if any regulations are to be had, they should be on a state-by-state level,” Hurley says.

She says the professor mocked her — and made the class laugh — by responding, “Oh, so you think slavery should be enacted if Alabama wanted to have slavery again?”

Hurley, who is starting a new role with the Republican National Committee, says the incident left her determined to fight “liberal bias.”

When she’s not fighting liberals, you can find Hurley brunching, Netflix bingeing or hunting Pokémon.

“My data has gone through the roof. … I’m on level 16 now,” she says.
