Christie: Trump skipping debate was a ‘hissy fit’

Republican presidential hopeful Chris Christie chided front-runner Donald Trump for skipping Thursday night’s Fox News debate — the last before the Iowa caucuses.

Christie told a crowd at an Iowa town hall on Friday that “you deserve better than to have somebody go and take a little hissy fit and walk away and not show the debate.”

{mosads}”I mean that was really quite a performance, wasn’t it? ‘I’m taking my marbles and going home.’ Well, guess what? When you’re president, you don’t get to do that. And if you do, it’s going to cost American lives and American fortune and American reputation.”

“So you invite me, I show up. You give me a microphone, I talk. And you raise your hand and ask me a question, I answer. And that’s what leaders are supposed to because we work for you and not the other way around,” he added.

Trump has been widely criticized for skipping Thursday night’s debate after criticizing moderator Megyn Kelly and taking offense to a mocking press release issued by Fox News.
