Carson: US present course set for ‘carnage and death’

Former GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson warned Monday that America is like a cruise ship about to tip over Niagara Falls unless Republicans rally around Donald Trump.

{mosads}“America, right now, is like a cruise ship that is about to go off of Niagara Falls with tremendous carnage and death,” Carson told “Fox & Friends.” “What you have to do first is recognize the problem, stop the ship, turn it around and then move in the other direction.”

Carson warned that Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party’s presidential candidate, and any other potential third-party candidate that gets into the race are stealing the spotlight away from Trump because of “petty little differences.”

“A quarter of a century ago, another Clinton was running for the White House and it was the entrance of a third-party candidate, Ross Perot, that made it possible for him to win,” Carson said. “Now, wouldn’t it be ironic if the same thing happened this time? Wouldn’t we be smart to learn from things that have happened in the past?”

“I’m hoping that whoever that third-party candidate is will stop for a moment and think about what the implications are of allowing Hillary Clinton or someone like her to get in there,” he continued.

“They get two to four Supreme Court picks and completely change the nature of this country and destroy the prospects for their children and their grandchildren to have the same opportunities that they had.”

Carson was one of the first 2016 White House contenders to endorse Trump after ending his own bid. He has been a prominent Trump surrogate in the media, including a Facebook Live interview with The Hill on Friday.
