Trump: Our sailors ‘would like to give it to’ Iran

Donald Trump said at a Wednesday rally that U.S. Navy sailors are pining for a chance to engage with aggressive Iranian ships.

{mosads}Speaking to a crowd in Canton, Ohio, the Republican presidential nominee blasted the Iranian nuclear agreement and the aggression that Iran has shown in recent weeks.

“Look at that horrible deal we made with Iran, where they’re now threatening to shoot down our planes. They have their little boats circling our beautiful, big destroyers — and our great men are sitting their watching, saying ‘Oh, would I like to give it to them,’ ” Trump said, diverging from his prepared speech. “I know those captains and I know those people on those boats, and boy, would they like to give it to them.”

Trump went on to decry the billions of dollars Iran has acquired as a result of its assets being unfrozen in the wake of the nuclear agreement, saying it’s “amazing” that Iran isn’t “grateful.”

“Whoever saw $1.7 billion? That would be like to the ceiling and back a few times,” he said.

Last week, Trump promised that any Iranians who made “rude gestures” at Naval ships would be “shot out of the water.”
