Author Trump promoted charges liberals are ‘politicizing’ hurricane

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke (D) ripped the "lib left" on Sunday for "politicizing" Hurricane — now Tropical Storm — Harvey. He sent a string of attack tweets a few hours after President Trump promoted Clarke's book in a tweet.

"The deranged lib left is soiling their underwear in excitement over politicizing Tropical Storm Harvey to use against @realdonaldtrump. MAGA," Clarke tweeted.

Clarke went on to compare Trump's response to Harvey favorably to former President Obama's response to past flooding in the southeastern U.S.

Clarke — a staunch Trump ally who previously claimed to be under consideration for a role in his administration — was active on Twitter not long after Trump promoted Clarke's book "Cop Under Fire: Moving Beyond Hashtags of Race, Crime and Politics for a Better America" earlier on Sunday.

"A great book by a great guy, highly recommended!" the president tweeted along with the book's link on Amazon.

Trump's tweet came even as Texas copes with extreme flooding and the effects of Harvey, in which five fatalities have been reported so far.

The tweet quickly drew backlash online.

Trump has also tweeted updates on the storm throughout the weekend and continued to do so on Sunday.
