Suspected Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock wired $100,000 to the Philippines last week, days before committing what's become the deadliest mass shooting in modern United States history, NBC News reported Tuesday.
Marilou Danley, Paddock’s girlfriend, is from the Philippines and was visiting the country on Sunday when the shooting took place. She is scheduled to return to the U.S. on Wednesday, according to officials.
Law enforcement officials originally considered Danley a person of interest in the investigation, but now say they believe she was not involved. The couple lived together in Mesquite, Nev., a city about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
Paddock’s brother said the shooter was a “multimillionaire” who worked in real estate and accounting.
Paddock was found dead, possibly from a self-inflicted gun wound, when police entered his room Sunday night after the shooting that left 59 people dead and hundreds more wounded or injured.
