Romney vows in debate that first foreign trip will be to Israel

Mitt Romney pledged that his first foreign trip would be to Israel if
elected president, saying that the right course for Israel would be for
the United States to demonstrate its commitment to Israel’s security and
well-being.

{mosads}”We have a president who pursued an agenda of saying we’re going to be friendly to our foes and we’re going to be disrespectful to our friends,” Romney said in a CNN debate on national security.

All of the Republican candidates, except for Ron Paul, have made vocal support for Israel a prominent feature of their foreign policy. But Romney has been especially critical of President Obama’s attitude toward Israel, accusing him of putting American security as risk.

“He’s spending the money foolishly we need to protect America,” Romney said.
