Trump: Christie is the most meaningful endorsement

Chris Christie, calling it “the one endorsement to me that really meant a lot.”
Trump told “Fox and Friends” in a morning interview that Christie reached out to him prior to the Friday endorsement.
“Everybody wanted Chris,” Trump said. “Chris called up out of the blue and said, ‘You’re the one that’s going to win.’ ”
The billionaire businessman said he has often been frustrated by the endorsement process.
“Frankly, sometimes they want have dinner, and ‘Let’s get together for two hours,’ and ‘Let’s go to a movie together,’ ” he said. “It’s too much work.”
However, Trump acknowledged, some endorsements are actually helpful. He cited the support of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Liberty University president Jerry Falwell Jr., who he said particularly helped him win evangelicals in early-voting states.
