Democrats doubled a series of robocalls they've launched to put pressure on Republicans over the 2012 budget they approved earlier in April.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) expanded its automated phone calls on the GOP budget from 25 to 50 districts on Monday, driven by a sense that Republicans have felt heat during the current district work period.

The calls particularly take aim at portions of the budget having to do with Medicare, the section Democrats view as most politically unpalatable.

"Everyone agrees we must cut spending and tighten our belt, but Congressman Barletta has made all the wrong choices," says one of the similarly scripted ads, this one aimed at Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Lou Barletta. "He actually voted to end Medicare, rather than end taxpayer giveaways for Big Oil making record profits or tax breaks for the ultra rich!"
