The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee purchased the website domain on Monday, according to Web registration records. While the site has yet to be launched, it's likely to supplement their argument that House Republicans are to blame for Congress's failure to find agreement on a continuing resolution to fund the government.
Democrats believe — and polls indicate — that they stand to gain if the government is shut down starting Tuesday. Some have privately said they see a government shutdown as their best, if not only, chance at winning back the House next fall.
They're not the only ones preparing for the political fallout of a government shutdown — obamashutdown.com was also registered on Monday.
The DCCC did not respond to a request for comment.
