Similarly, another question gave a slight edge to Romney. When asked “Who is a better leader for the United States when it comes to dealing with its enemies …. Barack ObamaBarack Hussein ObamaMcCaskill to oppose Kavanaugh nomination Presidential approval: It's the economy; except when it's not Time for sunshine on Trump-Russia investigation MORE or Mitt Romney?,” 44 percent of respondents answered Romney, compared to 43 percent for the president, well within the poll’s 3 percentage point margin of error.

The poll was conducted in the wake of Romney’s week-long foreign tour to Great Britain, Israel and Poland. Though there was much focus by the media on Romney’s trip, a good deal of it was negative and devoted to gaffes, including his comments questioning how prepared Britain was for the Olympics.

But the challenger also received an endorsement from former Polish president Lech Walesa, who told the Republican, “I wish you to be successful … Gov. Romney, get your success, be successful!”
