A new hire to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s (R) 2016 political action committee is under fire for past tweets that disparaged women and gay men.

On Monday, Time magazine reported that Bush’s leadership PAC, Right to Rise, had brought on Hipster.com co-founder Ethan Czahor to be its chief technology officer.

Shortly after, BuzzFeed News reported that dozens of tweets had been deleted from Czahor’s account.

Some of the tweets referred to women as “sluts,” while others joked about being ogled by gay men at the gym.

“Governor Bush believes the comments were inappropriate,” a Bush spokesman told BuzzFeed News. “They have been deleted at our request. Ethan is a great talent in the tech world and we are very excited to have him on board the Right to Rise PAC.”

The Democratic National Committee pounced, sending out an email saying the hire was evidence Bush isn’t ready for prime time.

“Jeb Bush said the country needed ‘adult conversations’ and then promptly hired a digital staffer who proudly shares misogynist views on women, homophobic views about the LGBT community, and mocks everyone from newborns to the McCain family,” said Deputy National Press Secretary Rebecca Chalif.

“I’m not sure what sort of conversations are going on with the adults Governor Bush knows, but these statements don’t belong in a schoolyard screaming match, much less in our political discourse,” Chalif continued. “If this is the kind of guy Jeb’s team has chosen to lead their digital outreach, it’s clear they are not ready for prime time.”
