Jeb Bush’s political committee has added the head of a prominent Republican super-PAC as a senior adviser.

Tim Miller, who led America Rising, a conservative group that digs up opposition research on Democratic candidates, is joining the Bush team with the plan of moving into the role of communications director once the former Florida governor officially launches a presidential campaign.

“Tim is one of the most respected communicators in the nation,” said Matt Gorman, spokesman for Bush's Right to Rise committee. “His counsel will be critical to Governor Bush as the Right to Rise PAC works to support conservative candidates and conservative causes across the nation in the coming months.”

Miller was previously a spokesman for the Republican National Committee and he worked on former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman’s 2012 campaign.

His hire comes as the nucleus of what will likely be Bush’s campaign team has assembled in Tallahassee, Fla. Miller's hire was first reported by The Wall Street Journal

The Bush communications team has been an early focus for the team. Miller joins two other Washington-based Bush communications operatives, Kristy Campbell and Gorman, who both moved from the nation’s capital to the Florida capital earlier this month.

Campbell is Bush’s spokeswoman, and Gorman, formerly the rapid-response director for the National Republican Congressional Committee in 2014, has been playing a similar role for the PAC.
