Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie criticized Donald TrumpDonald John TrumpSanders apologizes to Biden for supporter's op-ed Jayapal: 'We will end up with another Trump' if the US doesn't elect progressive Democrats: McConnell impeachment trial rules a 'cover up,' 'national disgrace' MORE ahead of the GOP debate Thursday night for being allowed to phone in for television interviews.

"He phones in to every darn show — none of the rest of us do that," Christie said on Sean Hannity's show Wednesday night on Fox News. "He sits in his jammies in Trump Tower and phones in. You guys don’t let any of the rest of us do that."

Trump regularly calls into multiple TV networks for early morning shows, including after GOP debates. His campaign manager Corey Lewandowski also called into MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Christie's campaign circulated the candidate's remarks in an email titled, "Trump sits in his jammies in Trump Tower," further tweaking the celebrity real estate tycoon.

Christie reiterated on Fox that he thought it was a "big mistake" for Trump to not attend the debate, noting he himself didn't "whine and moan and complain and walk away" when he was demoted to the undercard debate at a Fox Business event in November. He'll be on the main stage Thursday.
