An announcement could come as early as Wednesday afternoon, according to ABC.

The Republican presidential candidate said late Tuesday that he was returning home to New Jersey to reevaluate his bid after failing to finish in the top five in the New Hampshire primary.

A spokesman for Christie declined to respond to the reports.
