Financial commentator Larry KudlowLarry KudlowMORE has decided against running for the Senate in Connecticut this year.

He announced his decision Tuesday afternoon on CNBC, where he is a senior contributor.
Kudlow had for several months been considering a challenge to Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) for his Senate seat.
He said last month that he was looking at the "legal and financial ramifications" of launching a Senate bid, and noted some disagreements with Blumenthal on issues like taxes.
The CNBC commentator had expressed an interest in challenging Blumenthal after the Democratic incumbent voted in favor of the nuclear deal with Iran.
Kudlow said Tuesday that while he wouldn't rule out potentially entering politics in the future, he didn't want to give up his platform on national media, according to the Hartford Courant.
