“Listen, I think, what I’ve said is, at this point I plan to support our Republican nominee,” Ayotte told New Hampshire radio host Dan Mitchell on Thursday morning, according to BuzzFeed News.

“That said, I got to tell you, I don’t know who that’s gonna be. I think that this is far from over. This process still has to play out and, you know, I want to see what happens at this convention, obviously.”

When she was asked again if she'd support Trump if he secures the nomination, Ayotte responded the same way.

"I plan to support our Republican nominee," she said.

Trump won Ayotte's home state of New Hampshire by a convincing 20 points in February. He took 35 percent of the vote and gained 11 delegates; Ohio Gov. John Kasich came in a distant second with 15 percent.

Ayotte has disagreed with Trump in the past, saying she wasn't in support of Trump's call for a ban on Muslims coming into the country.

“I do not believe that there should be a religious test in terms of how we decide who’s coming to our country,” Ayotte said in December. “There needs to be a factual, risk-based assessment. We’ve not had a religious test for this, and that certainly seems inconsistent with the First Amendment to me.”
