“Well I think it’s really a waste of time honestly,” he said during a Fox News town hall.

Trump added that the tactic was likely a ploy to get more media attention for Cruz’s campaign.


“I just think it’s so early in the process, first you have to get the nomination,” he said. “Here’s a guy picking a vice presidential candidate — he has zero chance, he has no path. It’s sort of crazy.”

"It gets him in the news cycle,” he noted.
