“I’m not in every interaction my father has,” Ivanka Trump said on “CBS This Morning" on Wednesday. "But he’s not a groper. It’s not who he is.

“I’ve known my father, obviously, my whole life. And he has total respect for women. He was promoting women in development and construction at a time when it was unheard of. There was no trend towards equality in the real estate and construction industry back in the 1980s. And he was doing it because he believes ultimately in merit.”

A Times report Saturday detailed Donald Trump’s past interactions with women. The front-page story said that he nurtured some women’s professional careers but that he was crude and demeaning to others.

Ivanka Trump said the article is not credible.

“I found it pretty disturbing, based on the facts as I know them,” she said. "And obviously, I very much know them, both in the capacity as a daughter and in the capacity as an executive who’s worked alongside of him at this company for over a decade. So I was bothered by it."

Trump said some of the women interviewed by the Times have already discredited the story.

"The lead person that was interviewed … was all over the news yesterday saying that they manipulated what she was saying," she said.

“So, you know, I don’t find it that meaningful to comment on this particular story because I think that the facts are starting to speak for themselves.”

A woman who dated Trump said on Monday that the Times had “spun” her account so that it seemed more critical of the billionaire.

“I did not have a negative experience with Donald Trump,” Rowanne Brewer Lane said on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends.”

The Times reporters defended their story earlier this week, saying they accurately portrayed Trump.

Trump on Sunday called the story a “lame hit piece” published by a “failing” newspaper aimed at discrediting him.
