Asian, Pacific Islander lawmakers to endorse Clinton

The Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) Leadership PAC is set to endorse Democratic presidential candidate Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonTexas history curriculum to emphasize that slavery played 'central role' in Civil War Election Countdown: Abrams ends fight in Georgia governor's race | Latest on Florida recount | Booker, Harris head to campaign in Mississippi Senate runoff | Why the tax law failed to save the GOP majority Texas education board approves restoring Hillary Clinton in history curriculum MORE.


In a Friday press release, the CAPAC Leadership PAC said it will announce its endorsement at a Clinton event in Los Angeles Tuesday.

California Reps. Judy Chu and Doris Matsui will be in attendance, along with other Asian and Pacific Islander elected officials from throughout the state.

California holds its primary on June 7, and Clinton is hoping for a decisive win to seal the nomination.  

Several California lawmakers joined Clinton’s Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders for Hillary Leadership Council, launched in January.

Clinton spoke at the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies earlier this month.
