Poll: Clinton leads Trump by 30 points in California

A new Field Poll found that the presumptive Democratic nominee leads her GOP counterpart by 30 points, 58 to 28 percent.

When Libertarian nominee Gary JohnsonGary Earl JohnsonBiden broadened Democratic base, cut into Trump coalition: study New Mexico lawmakers send recreational marijuana bills to governor Judge throws out murder convictions, releases men jailed for 24 years MORE is factored into the poll, Clinton tops Trump by 24 points, 50 to 26 percent, with Johnson receiving 14 percent.

The poll also found that she won the support of 16 percent of Republicans. Trump only got the backing of 5 percent of Democrats.

Trump told GOP senators on Thursday during a private meeting on Capitol Hill that he'll expand the map of battleground states but won’t ignore safe Democratic states like California.

The poll was conducted from June 8 to July 2 and surveyed 956 likely voters via phone. The margin of error was 4.4 percentage points.
