“Liberal politicians who label police as racists--specifically Hillary Clinton and Virginia Lt. Governor Ralph Northam--are to blame for essentially encouraging the murder of these police officers tonight,” Corey Stewart wrote in a Facebook post that has since been deleted, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Five police officers were killed in Dallas Thursday night when four gunmen opened fire during a protest against police violence.

The Trump and Clinton campaigns did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, condemned the attack in a tweet on Friday, saying she mourned the officers who were protecting protesters.
