The ad comes ahead of Trump's speech Thursday night at the GOP convention, where he will accept the Republican nomination for president.

The ad, titled "The truth about Hillary," features several quotes from Trump where he compliments Clinton and her husband.

"Hillary Clinton I think is a terrific woman," Trump said in a clip in the ad from a 2012 Fox News interview.

"I know her very well, and I know her husband very well, and I like them both," he said in another clip.

"Hillary is smart, tough, and a very nice person," Trump was quoted saying in December 2008.

The ad also quoted Trump from March 2008 saying he thinks Clinton would "make a great president."

The ad ends with a clip of Trump's dramatic entrance onto the convention stage on Monday night, with the words "Donald Trump: occasionally right," overlaid on top of the video.

During the primary season, Trump and Clinton have repeatedly exchanged attacks against each other. Trump refers to Clinton as "Crooked Hillary" in an attempt to frame the candidate as someone who is dishonest and has poor judgment.
