"As we saw in Donald TrumpDonald John TrumpTrump calls for Republicans to be 'united' on abortion Tlaib calls on Amash to join impeachment resolution Facebook temporarily suspended conservative commentator Candace Owens MORE’s speech last night, Republicans will run hard against Democrats on trade this year. Unfortunately, since Tim Kaine voted to fast track the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), Republicans now have a new opening to attack Democrats on this economic populist issue," the PCCC said in a statement.
"It’s now more important than ever that Hillary Clinton run an aggressive campaign on core economic ideas like expanding Social Security, debt-free college, Wall Street reform, and yes, stopping the TPP. It’s the best way to unite the Democratic Party, and stop Republicans from winning over swing voters on bread-and-butter issues."
The PCCC called for Clinton to tell the White House to take the TPP trade deal off the table, to prevent Donald Trump from being able to “outflank her on this key issue.”
Clinton announced her running mate Friday on Twitter and by text message to supporters.
She is expected to formally introduce Kaine at a joint campaign event on Saturday in Miami.
