Kaine agreed to reverse course and come out against the controversial trade deal, the newspaper said, citing a Clinton campaign advisor.
On Thursday, Kaine spoke in favor of TPP during an event in Virginia.
"I am having discussions with a lot of groups around Virginia about the treaty itself. I see much in it to like,” Kaine said.
“I think it's an upgrade of labor standards, I think it's an upgrade of environmental standards. I think it's an upgrade of intellectual property protections," he added.
The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) on Friday slammed Kaine's position on TPP, saying he will create a "new opening to attack Democrats."
Clinton officially tapped Kaine to be her running mate on Friday, just days before the Democratic Presidential Convention.
