Clinton on Friday acknowledged she mischaracterized FBI Director James Comey's statements about her truthfulness during the investigation into the controversial email setup she used when serving as secretary of State, saying she may have "short-circuited it."

Trump latched on to that phrase Saturday, saying it's proof she is not fit to be president.

"Crooked Hillary said loudly, and for the world to see, that she "SHORT CIRCUITED" when answering a question about her e-mails. Very dangerous!" he tweeted.

"Anybody whose mind "SHORT CIRCUITS" is not fit to be our president! Look up the word "BRAINWASHED."

He also criticized Clinton for a "poor performance" answering questions from reporters on Friday.
