Trump: ‘I’ve always loved debt’

Donald Trump said on Thursday that he loves debt and that his expertise in it would help the country.

{mosads}During a rally in Kissimmee, Fla., the Republican candidate was discussing the nation’s mounting debt while holding up a chart that showing its rise over time.

“I’ve always loved debt, I must be honest with you,” Trump said. “I don’t love it for countries but I love it individually. If things work out good that’s great, if they don’t, you go renegotiate.”

“I’ve always loved debt,” he continued. “I understand debt maybe better than anybody. By the way, when you owe $20 trillion, wouldn’t it be really nice if you did have somebody that understood debt?”

Trump was criticized in May when he referred to himself as the “king of debt.”
