Report: Hannity informally advising Trump

The New York Times’s Jim Rutenberg reported Sunday that Fox News personality Sean Hannity has “for months peppered” Republican presidential nominee Donald TrumpDonald John TrumpBiden campaign: Trump and former vice president will have phone call about coronavirus Esper: Military personnel could help treat coronavirus patients 'if push comes to shove' Schumer calls for military official to act as medical equipment czar MORE, his family and his advisers “with suggestions on strategy and messaging.”


While Hannity dismissed speculation that he wants a role in a possible Trump administration, he did not deny offering advice to the GOP nominee. 

“Do I talk to my friend who I’ve known for years and speak my mind? I can’t not speak my mind,’’ he told Rutenberg.

“I’m not hiding the fact that I want Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States,” he said, adding, “I never claimed to be a journalist.”
