First lady Michelle Obama on Friday ripped into Donald Trump and expressed admiration for Hillary Clinton at a campaign event in Fairfax, Va.
Obama never said Trump’s name, but she slammed his political inexperience, temperament and reality-TV background in a speak to a cheering crowd of millennials at George Mason University.
{mosads}”This job is hard. We need someone who is going to take this job seriously. … We need someone with superb judgement,” she said.
The first lady also spent time lauding Clinton, casting her as the antidote to Trump’s approach.
“We need someone who’s compassionate, someone who’s unifying, someone who will be a role model for our kids,” Obama said. “Someone whose not just in this for themselves but for the good of the country.”
She questioned Democrats who say Clinton doesn’t inspire them.
“I am inspired because for eight years I have had the privilege to see what it takes to actually do this job. Here’s what I absolutely know for sure: We have an opportunity to elect one of the most qualified people who has ever endeavored to become president,” the first lady added, listing the highlights of Clinton’s résumé.
