The first lady ticked off a list of Trump’s controversial statements as examples of unmeasured and immature behavior.

 

“For me, I am just saying, it is excruciatingly clear that there is only one person in this election we can trust with those responsibilities, only one person with the qualifications and the temperament for that job and that is our friend Hillary Clinton,” she said.

 

Hours after Trump said publicly for the first time that he thought President Obama was born in the U.S., Michelle Obama made reference to the GOP presidential nominee’s years-long questioning of his background.

 

The first lady also spent time lauding Clinton, casting her as the antidote to Trump’s approach.

“We need someone who’s compassionate, someone who’s unifying, someone who will be a role model for our kids,” Obama said. “Someone whose not just in this for themselves but for the good of the country.”

She questioned Democrats who say Clinton doesn’t inspire them.

“I am inspired because for eight years I have had the privilege to see what it takes to actually do this job. Here’s what I absolutely know for sure: We have an opportunity to elect one of the most qualified people who has ever endeavored to become president,” the first lady added, listing the highlights of Clinton’s résumé.
