DC lawyer Barnett to play Pence in Kaine’s debate prep: report
A longtime Hillary Clinton ally is reportedly set to play the role of GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence in the Democratic ticket’s debate prep.
{mosads}Robert Barnett, a top Washington lawyer, will play Pence in Democratic VP nominee Tim Kaine’s preparation for the Oct. 4 vice presidential debate, according to Politico.
Barnett is Clinton’s book agent and a frequent aide on debate prep. He played Sen. Bernie Sanders in Clinton’s preparation for Democratic primary debates.
Barnett has a long history as a sparring partner for Democrats preparing for major debates. He acted as George H.W. Bush in Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential debate prep, and he played Dick Cheney in vice presidential mock debates in both 2000 and 2004.
