Poll: Trump up 11 on Clinton in Indiana

Donald Trump is 11 points ahead of Hillary Clinton in Indiana just over a week from Election Day, according to a new poll.

Trump leads Clinton, 50 percent to 39 percent, with the Hoosier State’s likely voters in the Monmouth University survey released Monday.

{mosads}Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson nets 4 percent, while 2 percent prefer another candidate and 5 percent remain undecided.

Pollsters also found Clinton and Trump are both deeply unpopular in Indiana.

Fifty-one percent view Trump unfavorably, while 35 percent see the Republican presidential nominee favorably instead. Fourteen percent have no opinion.

Sixty-three percent consider Clinton unfavorably, however, versus 27 percent who find the Democratic presidential nominee favorable and 10 percent who have no opinion.

Monday’s results find Trump growing his lead in Indiana from 4 points, 45 percent to 41 percent, in Monmouth University’s last poll there two weeks ago.

Trump also led Clinton by 11 points in August’s version of the survey, topping her 47 percent to 36 percent before polls there tightened.

Monmouth University’s latest Indiana poll additionally found over half of those surveyed approve of GOP Gov. Mike Pence’s job performance.

Fifty-two percent approve of Pence’s handling of Indiana, while 43 percent disapprove of the GOP vice presidential nominee’s stewardship. Five percent have no opinion.

Trump leads Clinton by about 7 points in Indiana, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls there.

Clinton has a slight advantage nationwide, however, squeaking past Trump by roughly 3 points in the same index of surveys.

Monmouth University conducted its latest survey of 402 likely voters in Indiana via telephone interviews from Oct. 27 to 30. It has a margin of error of 4.9 percentage points.
