Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah.) indicated Wednesday he would continue probing Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server despite Clinton’s loss in the election.

“It would be totally remiss of us to dismiss [the email investigation] because she’s not going to be president,” the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman said, according to The Washington Post.

{mosads}“I still have a duty and obligation to get to the truth about one of the largest breaches of security at the State Department,” Chaffetz said. “Tens of thousands of documents still have not been turned over to Congress.”

Chaffetz on Monday said he is planning to continue the congressional investigation of Clinton’s use of a private email server despite the FBI standing by its decision to not recommend charges involving the former secretary of State.

“Regardless of the results of the election, of course we are going to continue to probe this,” Chaffetz said on Monday.

Following Tuesday’s election, the lawmaker plans to arrange a series of interviews with State Department employees.

According to The Washington Post, Chaffetz does not expect Clinton to testify but seeks to probe other officials for information relating to the case.

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) criticized Chaffetz, saying that his determination to pursue the investigation in spite of Tuesday’s results “is extremely disappointing.”

“After everything our country has just been through—and particularly given that Donald Trump and Paul Ryan have both called for healing our nation’s divisions—I think the American people deserve more from Congress than to continue squandering taxpayer dollars on these baseless Republican accusations and partisan attacks,” Cummings said, according to the report.
