Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore saw his prediction that Donald TrumpDonald John TrumpSarah Huckabee Sanders becomes Fox News contributor The US-Iranian scuffle over a ship is a sideshow to events in the Gulf South Korea: US, North Korea to resume nuclear talks 'soon' MORE would be elected president come true early Wednesday morning.

Moore made his prediction in July, writing in a post on his website that he had also accurately predicted in December of last year that Trump would win the Republican nomination.

“I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I gave it to you straight last summer when I told you that Donald Trump would be the Republican nominee for president,” Moore wrote.

“And now I have even more awful, depressing news for you: Donald J. Trump is going to win in November. This wretched, ignorant, dangerous part-time clown and full time sociopath is going to be our next president.”

Moore went on to list four reasons for why Trump would win, the most prescient of which was the prediction that the Republican’s message would resonate in the Rust Belt states of Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania — all states that have either been called for Trump or he is leading in.

“All Trump needs to do to win is to carry, as he’s expected to do, the swath of traditional red states from Idaho to Georgia (states that’ll never vote for Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonPoll shows Biden, Warren tied with Trump in Arizona The Hill's Morning Report - Trump touts new immigration policy, backtracks on tax cuts Hickenlooper announces Senate bid MORE), and then he just needs these four rust belt states,” Moore wrote.

“He doesn’t need Florida. He doesn’t need Colorado or Virginia. Just Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

“This is how it will happen in November."
