Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) is heading to Texas to stump with former state Solicitor General Ted Cruz (R) later this week, his campaign announced.

Palin and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) will head down to The Woodlands, a sprawling community outside of Houston, to stump with Cruz on Friday evening, just days ahead of his Senate primary runoff against Texas Lieutenant Gov. David Dewhurst (R).

Cruz is getting a lot of high-profile support in the closing days of the campaign. Tea Party Express, which is backing him, is hosting a pro-Cruz "radiothon" Wednesday night featuring other supporters including former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) as well as DeMint and Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah).
