Trump donates $100K to 9/11 memorial

Trump left around midday to tour the museum with his wife, Melania, and barred reporters from accompanying the couple inside. 

The GOP front-runner often mentions the 9/11 terror attacks in debates, pointing to the city's response to demonstrate its resilience. 

"When the World Trade Center came down, I saw something that no place on earth could have handled more beautifully, more humanely than New York," Trump said in a January GOP debate.

His visit was part of a lengthy campaign trip to the Empire State as New York's critical April 19 primary looms.
