New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) has the lowest approval rating of any governor in the country over the past 20 years, according to a new poll released Wednesday.
The Quinnipiac University survey found that Christie has a 15 percent approval rating, which it called “the worst approval rating for any governor in any state surveyed by Quinnipiac University in more than 20 years.”
Christie had an 81 percent disapproval rating. The poll found that even among his party, 58 percent of New Jersey Republicans disapprove of him.
A Morning Consult poll in April found that Christie was the least popular governor in the country, with a 71 disapproval rating.
Christie has grown increasingly unpopular in his home state after dropping out of the GOP presidential primary and becoming a supporter of President Trump's campaign, reaching record low numbers over the past year.
