Trump Organization renews domain names for Russian business prospects


The Trump Organization renewed at least two sites that refer to possible business ventures in Russia on Wednesday even as the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election grows.

The Trump Organization renewed claims on more than 1,000 web domains registered under the group’s general counsel, including and, Politico reported.

This is the first time the company has renewed the two domain names relating to Russia since President Trump entered office, according to Politico.

{mosads}The company has thousands of web domains registered in its name for Trump properties and the Trump name in general. 

Many of the domains were set to expire at the end of June or start of July but were re-registered on Wednesday. For example, made the cut for renewal.

Trump left the management of the company to his two elder sons while he serves as president, but he has not divested from his business holdings.

The company has said it will not pursue any new foreign deals while Trump is in office.

Trump is also headed to Poland on Wednesday and will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week for the first time face to face.
