Federal investigators believe that an explosion that breached the doors at an Air Force base in Bixby, Okla., late Monday night was an act of domestic terrorism, according to a local news report.

The explosion caused heavy damage to the doors of the Air Force Recruitment Center in a shopping plaza just after 10:30 p.m.

Bixby police called for the Tulsa Police bomb squad because of a possible pipe bomb at the scene. The FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also arrived to investigate.

According to the plaza’s property management, a nearby restaurant has surveillance footage of the explosion.

Police said the center was closed at the time of the bombing and that no one was injured.
