Howard Dean: Murkowski should leave GOP and become a Dem

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean is inviting Sen. “What has Trump ever done for Alaska?” he added in a tweet early Thursday.

President Trump attacked the Republican senator for not voting in favor of the Senate GOP's healthcare measures earlier this week.

“Senator @lisamurkowski of the Great State of Alaska really let the Republicans, and our country, down yesterday. Too bad!” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning.

Murkowski was one of two Republicans who voted against a procedural measure to debate the healthcare bill and also voted against a key proposal in repealing and replacing ObamaCare.

She later fired back at Trump’s comments, saying that she is focused on governing rather than worrying about reelection.

"We're here to govern. We're here to legislate. We're here to represent the people that sent us here," she said.
