Sen. John McCainJohn Sidney McCainStephen Miller hits Sunday show to defend Trump against racism charges Michelle Obama weighs in on Trump, 'Squad' feud: 'Not my America or your America. It's our America' Meghan McCain shares story of miscarriage MORE (R-Ariz.) posted a photo on Saturday with longtime friends Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.) and former Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn).

The photo, posted to McCain's Twitter account, shows the Arizona lawmaker outdoors with the two other lawmakers, and is captioned "The three amigos together again!"

The photo comes just hours after McCain's daughter reported that he had completed his first round of chemotherapy. The 80-year-old Arizona Republican was diagnosed with a glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive types of brain tumors, last month after a procedure to remove a blood clot behind his eye detected the tumor.

"My father completed first round radiation/chemo. His resilience & strength is incredible," Fox News host and McCain's daughter Meghan McCain tweeted. "Fight goes on, here's to small wins."

McCain made national headlines last month when he became one of three GOP senators to vote against the Senate GOP's "skinny repeal" of ObamaCare. McCain's deciding vote earned him the ire of Trump supporters and conservatives around the country.

McCain returned to his home state of Arizona at the end of July to begin cancer treatment.
