Poll: More Americans say Trump is taking US in wrong direction

Fifty-six percent of those polled by CNN say Trump is leading the U.S. in the wrong direction, while 38 percent disagree.


The president's approval rating held steady in October, the poll noted, with 57 percent disapproving of the job Trump is doing as commander in chief and 37 percent approving.

A majority of Americans, 54 percent, do not approve of how Trump is managing his relationship with congressional Republicans. Thirty-two percent said they approve of the president’s approach.

The new results come as the administration pushes for a tax overhaul after unveiling the framework last month.

They survey of 1,010 adults was conducted by SRSS from Oct. 12-15 and has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
