"Let them [Muslims] rise and attack the Jews and the Americans everywhere," said Khalid Batarfi in a video that surfaced Monday, Agence France-Presse reported. "No Muslim has the right to cede Jerusalem no matter what happens. Only a traitor would give it up or hand it over."

Batarfi also said in the video, entitled "Our Duty Toward Jerusalem," that Muslims must "liberate" the holy city.

Trump in December announced the U.S. would recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital and said the U.S. would eventually move its embassy there from Tel Aviv.

Key U.S. allies and world leaders rebuked Trump, saying his decision would upend the status quo in an unstable region.

The European Union announced its support on Monday for a Palestinian capital in east Jerusalem as a step toward a two-state solution in the disputed holy lands.

Vice President Pence, who has been visiting the region since Sunday, said Tuesday the Palestinians must return to negotiations before the U.S. will release its plan for peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
