Police are investigating after eight people were shot late Sunday night at an apartment complex in San Bernardino, Calif.

Reuters reported that they are still searching two people are in the hospital in critical condition, including a 17-year-old boy. Police are still searching for a suspect and are unsure of a motive.

Police initially told reporters that there were 10 victims, and that three were taken to the hospital. Officials told Reuters on Monday that they received conflicting reports, and that eight people were actually shot.

Police found multiple handguns and rifles, but the suspects fled the scene. The incident is not believed to be terror-related, CBS News reported.

The shooting reportedly took place as a group played dice in a common area of the apartment. Some stray bullets entered apartments, but no other residents were struck by gunfire.

Witnesses told CBS they heard roughly 30 gunshots.

There is no suspect in custody as of Monday afternoon.
