Toddler injured after being dropped from 18-foot border fence

A family from Guatemala was arrested after an adult dropped three young children over an 18-foot wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Border Patrol said Monday that cameras in the Yuma Sector captured an adult on the Mexican side dropping children ages 2, 7 and 10 onto the U.S. side of the border, where another adult was waiting.
The 2-year-old suffered minor injuries to her face when she was dropped into the U.S., the Border Patrol said.

The crossing attempt comes amid an influx of Central American migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border. Thousands of migrants from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala have in recent months made their way toward the U.S., with many hoping to declare asylum.
President Trump has seized on the group to push for a crackdown on illegal immigration. He has deployed troops to the border, threatened to shutter the border entirely and revived calls to fund his border wall.
