Former Gov. Charlie Crist (I-Fla.) will join the law firm Morgan & Morgan.

Crist, who decided to run for Senate first as a Republican and then an independent but was defeated by Marco Rubio, will officially join the large trial law firm this Friday according to the Orlando Sentinel.

In an e-mail to the Sentinel, Morgan & Morgan partner John Morgan said Crist would be introduced Friday at a breakfast. The Sentinel article noted that Morgan has been a major fundraiser for Crist in the past and a big supporter of his Senate run last year.

Crist was also a short-list candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential ticket as Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) vice president.

A spokesperson for the firm was unavailable for comment.
