Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman will deliver a May 7 commencement address at the University of South Carolina.

A school spokeswoman said Friday that Huntsman, President Obama's outgoing top diplomat in China, would deliver the speech to arts, sciences and honors graduates of the school next month.

For Huntsman, a possible candidate for the 2012 Republican nomination, the trip is anything but inconspicuous.

The former GOP governor of Utah is set to step down at the end of this month, and now has commencement speeches scheduled in South Carolina and New Hampshire, two key states in the primary cycle for winning the Republican nomination.
