Obama hits the links on Martha’s Vineyard after Egypt briefing (Video)

President Obama on Wednesday headed out for a round of golf after being briefed on the violence in Egypt.

{mosads}The president hit the links at Martha’s Vineyard for the third time in four days after a morning security briefing from national security adviser Susan Rice that included discussion of the crackdown on protesters in Egypt, according to White House spokesman Josh Earnest.

Earnest said Obama would be briefed throughout the day but would not say whether the president or any other senior administration officials had called Egyptian officials in the immediate aftermath of the violence, which has reportedly left more than 100 dead.

“We will continue to hold the interim government accountable for the promise they have made to speed the transition to a civilian democratic government,” Earnest said, calling the violence a “step in the wrong direction.”

The president’s golf game was at the Vineyard Club in Edgartown, the same place he played on Monday.

According to the White House press pool report, Obama’s golfing partners were World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, former U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk and Comcast CEO Brian Roberts. Kirk also golfed with the president on Monday.

After the golf round, Obama and first lady Michelle Obama visited Roberts’s home, according to a White House pool report.
