Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) on Wednesday warned President Obama to stop “poking our allies in the eye” with his comments on the European debt crisis.

“Keep in mind this was a president who was supposed to make the rest of the world ‘like’ us again,” Palin wrote on her Facebook page.

{mosads}After about two weeks of social-media silence from the former Alaska governor, who has used Facebook and Twitter as her primary contact with the many fans she acquired during her unsuccessful bid for vice president, Palin returned with a Facebook note condemning President Obama for remarks he made Monday in a California town-hall event sponsored by the social-networking platform LinkedIn.

Obama has blamed financial “headwinds” in Europe in part for their effect on the U.S. economy. On Monday, Obama said Greece is going through a “financial crisis that is scaring the world.”

Obama continued, “And they’re trying to take responsible actions, but those actions haven’t been quite as quick as they need to be. So the point is, is that economies all around the world are not growing as fast as they need to. And since the world is really interconnected, that affects us as well.”

Palin lashed out in the note, titled: “Now he’s blaming Europe.”

She wrote, “Yes, Europe has serious debt problems, but for President Obama to be lecturing our allies about not being ‘quite as quick’ in dealing with a debt crisis is downright hypocritical.”

Palin also took time to criticize North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue (D) for proposing on Tuesday to suspend congressional elections for a cycle so legislators could focus on fixing the economy.

“Between President Obama’s hypocritical lecture poking our allies in the eye again and one Democrat governor’s call to postpone lawfully mandated elections for two years, I suppose nothing should surprise concerned Americans anymore,” Palin wrote. “2012 can’t come soon enough.”

Palin, who has said she is still considering a presidential bid in 2012 herself, is approaching her self-imposed deadline at the end of September for the decision.
